CONSTRUCTIVE INTERFERENCE

Location:
Date:
RDS Hall 1, Dublin
October 2024

Constructive Interference is a national architecture exhibition by Building Change in conversation and critique of the construction industry.

The interference of two or more waves of equal frequency and phase, resulting in their mutual reinforcement and producing a single amplitude equal to the sum of the amplitudes of the individual waves. This is known as constructive interference.

Selected works should compliment or contrast each other, providing new insights through comparative readings. Activities throughout the conference will encourage connections between works and ideas from each university. Student and graduate works are presented by each school of architecture in Ireland, investigating an alternative paradigm to the unsustainable global cycle of demolition and construction. Isolated works, proposals, studies, sketches, drawings, models, film engage with the subject directly or tangentially.

Participating universities: Technological University Dublin(TUdublin), University College Dublin (UCD), Cork Centre for Architectural Education (CCAE), Atlantic Technological University (ATU), South East Technological University(SETU), University of Limerick (UL)
